Engineers seeking SBE certification will be able to take an exam during this fall’s AES convention.
David Bialik, who chairs the broadcast and streaming sessions for the fall show, told Radio World that the Society of Broadcast Engineers will hold a certification exam session at the October show in New York.
The first such session was held two years ago, when six people participated, according to a report at the time in Radio magazine.
Bialik said that with more notice and exposure for the program this year, exam attendance is likely to increase. Though preregistration is encouraged, Bialik said walk-ins will again be welcomed to the exams.
Also, Bailik said he’s been told that SBE will recognize AES convention technical sessions for recertification credits.
The 131st AES will run Oct. 20–23 at the Javits Center in New York.
