The 2014 AIBs, global factual broadcasting awards run by the Association for International Broadcasting, have invited broadcasters and content producers to submit the best of TV, radio and online factual reporting and investigation programs.
Entries can be in any language and can cover topics from live journalism to sport, children’s factual to current affairs, investigative reporting to science. Submissions must be received by July 23, 2014. The “AIBs 2014 Entry Booklet,” which contains full details of all the awards as well as how to enter, is available to view and download from the AIB website.
The AIBs have also added a new award category for the best online factual production, recognizing the medium’s increasing importance. Outstanding on-air talent will also be rewarded in separate categories for TV and radio.
This year’s awards are supported by Eutelsat.
The radio categories are Live journalism; Current affairs documentary; Investigative documentary; Creative feature; and International radio personality.
The AIBs were established to recognize content creators in factual genres who produce programming that stimulates audiences either at home or abroad. The awards are independent of commercial interest and judged by a panel of independent media professionals.
The gala awards ceremony will be held in London on Nov. 5, 2014.
