AIMS Plans NAB Show Presence

Will have a booth and host April 18 press conference

The Alliance for IP Media Solutions has announced its plans for the 2016 NAB Show, its first major trade show.

AIMS will host a Monday morning press conference in conference room N242, which will showcase the roadmap for the adoption and standardization of open protocols in the transition to a fully IP-based workflow, as well as the alliance’s alignment with the multiple associations and standards bodies, whose work and proposals the AIMS Roadmap endorses.

Booth SL9406 will be manned by representatives from the alliance’s 22 member companies. Outside of the booth, AIMS-related technology demonstrations and presentations by member companies will be held in their booths, as well as in sessions and conference program.

According to a press release, the organization’s efforts are focused on promoting the adoption, standardization, development and refinement of open protocols for media over IP, with an initial emphasis on VSF TR-03 and TR-04, SMPTE 2022-6 and AES67.

Member companies include: AJA Video, CBS, Cisco, Cobalt Digital, Grass Valley, Harmonic, Ikegami, Lawo, Matrox, NEC, Panasonic, Snell, Tektronix, Telos Alliance and Utah Scientific.
