Airport Ads Reach Upscale Consumers

Airport advertising is effective for reaching upscale Americans, according to a study by Arbitron. The audience research firm calls its study the first comprehensive analysis of the airport media audience and its consumer profile.
Arbitron said the reach of airports is “significant, with 92 million Americans having flown in the past year.”
Seventeen million people are frequent flyers – “affluent, well-educated and sophisticated consumers who take four or more flights per year and account for nearly 60 percent of all airport advertising impressions.”
The report is part of a series on out-of-home/outdoor advertising, which has looked in the past at outdoor, cinema, and in-car consumption of ads. Info is at www.arbitron.com.
