A CD shortly will be available to let you hear instruments recorded through various AKG microphones before buying one. Doug Kittle, the executive producer, stated, “This disc doesn’t replace listening comparisons in a studio, but … the listener can hear for themselves the uncolored difference between microphones on many different instruments.” When the enhanced audio CD is played as a CD-ROM in computers, it will provide commentary from the producers and engineers, as well as details on AKG products used on each track. AKG Acoustics USA said it is mastering the disc and will have it in time for the fall AES show.
