Alert FM Teams-Up with WorldCast

Emergency message system finds European distribution

AlertFM, provider of an FM-based emergency alert system, has announced that broadcast equipment manufacturer WorldCast Systems is offering the Alert FM system in Europe.

The Alert FM system sends text-based messages over FM frequencies to end users. Those end users can be anyone with an Alert FM receiver, including radio stations, first responders, schools, municipalities or citizens.

Group VP of Sales for WorldCast Systems Christophe Poulain said: “Recent events such as the earthquakes in Japan and Spain have highlighted the need for prompt and wide-reaching emergency notifications in many countries worldwide. To efficiently implement such a scheme requires the involvement of government, broadcasters, and system integrators throughout the world. We see Alert FM as the perfect approach to bring these groups together and implement a fully integrated, comprehensive, and reliable solution capable of reaching millions of citizens within a matter of seconds.”

WorldCast Systems owns APT, Audemat and Ecreso. Alert FM options will be part of WorldCast “turnkey solutions for broadcasters” according to a release.
