Alpha Media Expands Its Contract With Clip Interactive

App developer to support 23 stations in four markets

Clip Interactive was formed two years ago, with a goal to “give interactive radio to the masses” via standalone apps for radio stations and its own Clip Radio app.

Now the company says charter customer Alpha Media is expanding its business with the supplier.

Clip Interactive said it will develop radio apps for 23 stations in four markets, “with additional stations soon to come on board.”

Alpha Media is headquartered in Portland, Ore.; it has a total of 68 stations and two LMAs in 12 markets, as well as a digital media company and performance venues.

Clip says its apps enable listeners to interact with elements of a broadcast and stream, “enabling listeners to enter contests, find out the artist behind a new song [and] access special offers and interact with DJs.”

The announcement was made by Bob Proffitt, president/CEO of Alpha Media, and Bill Freund, chief revenue officer of Clip Interactive, which is based in Boulder, Colo.
