In an effort to reach African-American consumers, American Airlines, “The Steve Harvey Morning Show” and Premiere Radio Networks announced a marketing agreement.

The deal allows American to bring airline news and info to the program’s audience of 5 million weekly listeners. Terms were not disclosed.

The agreement provides for American to place advertising on the radio program and on the Harvey Web site. American will run 30-second commercials on the show, some of which will be voiced by Harvey. Also, an American Airlines/ Harvey show banner will appear on Harvey’s site and in his online newsletter, as well as on American’s Web site. American will provide the show with on-air promotions; airline representatives will participate in a live segment each month.

The agreement also involves a co-branded micro-site, www.steveharvey.com/american, that offers listeners business and leisure travel tips and information and vacation ideas. Video of the airline’s on-air segments will be featured.

American Airlines developed the deal with the help of syndicator Premiere Radio Networks and Global Hue, a Detroit-based ad agency that manages the airline’s advertising for African-American media.
