The FCC fined the licensee of KWNZ(FM), Carson City, Nevada $10,000 for exceeding the permissible RF limits at unfenced areas at its transmitter site. The fine was originally levied in 2002. Field agents at the time stated Americom also didn’t have sufficient warning signs at the site to warn the public about RF exposure. Americom asked for an admonishment, rather than a fine. The commission said the violations were serious to warrant a fine and re-affirmed the original penalty.
