On the wrist, in the dashboard, on the PC, app developer Jacapps says it is announcing a new app-centric/location agnostic initiative, “App Everywhere,” for making its radiocentric apps function on any platform.
Jacobs Media CEO Fred Jacobs said, “Consumers aren’t buying radios, but they are purchasing smart TV, smartwatches, and other gadgets driven by apps. The radio industry needs to be there, too.”
The first apps following this initiative will be for the Apple Watch smartwatch. Launch date is to coincide with a major watch operating system update in the fall, according to the company.
The company has developed apps for Entercom, Greater Media, Bonneville, Scripps, Emmis, and public radio and Christian radio stations in North America and throughout the world.
