Lisa Meyer was named AP Broadcast’s national security reporter, responsible for covering the Pentagon, State Department, Office of Homeland Security and other security-related beats. She replaces Thelma LeBrecht, who has retired after a 24-year AP career.
Meyer joined AP in 1999 as an anchor for AP All News Radio, one of its 24-hour live audio networks. Meyer covered the 2000 political conventions and election, the inauguration of President Bush and the first anniversary memorial service for Sept. 11 at Ground Zero.
Meyer also worked as a correspondent for CBS News Radio.
