The Associated Press named Tom Curley as its president and CEO beginning June 1. He has been president and publisher of USA Today since 1991; he succeeds Louis D. Boccardi
Curley’s experience with newspapers, TV and digital services equip him to lead AP, said Burl Osborne, the chairman of the AP board of directors.
Boccardi is retiring after 36 years at AP, 18 as president.
