Enthusiasts of rack mixers have a new choice from API Audio. The company is shipping its 8200 8-channel mixer, an addition to a line of rack-mount modular components.
The mixer has discrete signal paths and provides control over level, panning, inserts and sends. It occupies one rack space and is designed for use with the API 7800 master module and API 7600 input modules. It allows audio workstation users to bypass their internal digital mix bus and use the 8200 as a discrete summing mixer for warm analog sound. Other uses include confidence monitoring, live recording, studio
recording and mixing.
