Apple in the Eye of AES

Association and electronics manufacturer ink deal

The Audio Engineering Society (AES) and Apple have signed a deal that will give AES members select advantages and discounts when buying Apple products.

Officially it is a pilot program with Apple’s exclusive Apple Association Member Purchase Program. But that’s not really important, what AES members want to know is — what are the bennies?

Some of the goodies include special member discounts and promotions for Apple and certain third-party products, free shipping for orders over $50, free engraving on new iPods and flexible business financing.

AES President Jim Anderson said: “The AES is continually seeking new ways to benefit our members. … When Apple approached us with an opportunity to provide special pricing on software and hardware from one of the most ubiquitous tool groups at use in contemporary audio production/post-production we immediately recognized a valuable added service.”
