Arbitron Adds Markets; Nassau, Mendota to Benefit

Add several cities to your list of markets rated by Arbitron.
Thursday the company said it added Concord (Lake Regions), N.H.; Lebanon-Rutland-White River Junction, N.H.; and Montpelier-Barre-Waterbury, Vt., to the Fall 2004 radio survey schedule. They are markets 175, 180 and 259, respectively.
Benefiting immediately is Nassau Broadcasting Partners, under President/CEO Lou Mercatanti, which signed up for the service and aims at listeners in Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire in six measured markets. Nassau owns 31 stations total and has plans to buy 24 more, which would make it the 14th largest radio group in number of stations and 26th in revenue.
A day earlier, Arbitron added LaSalle-Peru, Ill., as market 239. It signed the Radio Group, a subsidiary of Mendota Broadcasting, as a client there.
Arbitron officials said that in Spring 1996, it measured 263 syndicated radio markets. This fall, it will have more than 290, a record number for Arbitron.
