Arbitron is moving up the Portable People Meter commercialization schedule in four markets but pushing it back in five others. It did not say why.
Four — Kansas City, San Antonio, Salt Lake City and Las Vegas — are now scheduled to commercialize in December 2009, three months ahead of schedule. These four get their last diary-based data with the Summer 2009 survey.
Five markets — Milwaukee, Charlotte, Columbus, Providence and Orlando — are now scheduled to commercialize with the September 2010 report that October. Previously, these five had been scheduled to commercialize PPM in June 2010. The five markets get their final diary-based audience data in the Spring 2010 survey.
