Arbitron had planned to make noncoms eligible for reporting in its local radio market surveys starting with the release of the Fall 2006 survey; but now the research firm has delayed those plans.
The company said it prefers to begin reporting noncom, satellite radio and Internet radio stations at the same time and said it is still figuring out how it wants to credit satellite radio entries — especially how to credit entries that could be assigned to either satellite or terrestrial stations.
