Arbitron Hires EVP, New Product Innovation

Former Nielsen exec will direct cross-platform initiatives

Former Nielsen executive Manish Bhatia is coming to Arbitron as executive vice president of new product innovation, a new position.

Bhatia will direct the Arbitron cross-platform initiatives and lead teams that are developing additional research services outside the company’s core radio business.

Since 2010, Bhatia had been president and chief executive officer for Symphony Advanced Media, a Silicon Valley-based startup providing advertisers with cross-media insights.

From 2007 until 2010, Bhatia held senior positions at Nielsen focused on advanced TV, online, mobile and social media measurement.

Specifically, as president of Nielsen’s advanced TV services from 2009–2010, Bhatia led efforts to create insights into audience behavior using set-top box tuning data.

Bhatia began his research career at Nielsen in 1989. He joined NetRatings in 2002 and was executive vice president, global operations and U.S. sales before Nielsen acquired NetRatings in 2007.

As president, global services and U.S. sales for Nielsen Online, Bhatia lead the integration of NetRatings into Nielsen and developed services to deliver integrated cross-media insights including the integration of television and online behaviors as well as online and mobile behaviors.

Bhatia will report to Arbitron EVP/COO Sean Creamer.
