Arbitron’s mobile division has hired a director of sales for its U.S. operations, a new position.
Derrik Dennis has joined Arbitron Mobile from The Nielsen Company where he was the product director for its telecom practice. He was responsible for the Nielsen Mobile Insights study platform and laid the groundwork for expanding the study both in scope and geography.
Dennis will lead the sales efforts of Arbitron’s mobile measurement products and work closely with Arbitron cross-platform services and advertiser and agency teams.
Arbitron Mobile operates mobile research panels in six countries: United States, United Kingdom, Finland, Denmark, France and Germany.
Dennis is based in the San Francisco area and reports to Arbitron Mobile SVP Dr. Hannu Verkasalo, who said: “As the use of smartphones and tablets continues to grow exponentially, our ability to understand how consumers are interacting with these devices, both online and offline, positions Arbitron Mobile as an important resource for app developers, content providers and mobile marketers.”
