Arbitron is prepping New York radio for its Portable People Meter.
The company said it briefed 200 radio and ad executives at a breakfast event in Manhattan on its accelerated plans to convert from paper diaries to the PPM. Broadcasters present included CBS, Cumulus, Emmis, Spanish Broadcasting System and Univision Radio.
The last diary-based book for New York is planned for next summer. The company has sped up its rollout in certain markets at the request of its Radio Advisory Council. The PPM will now be deployed in New York as well as the Nassau-Suffolk and Middlesex-Somerset-Union markets next year.
