Arbitron has a new head of technology.
The company appointed Taymoor Arshi senior vice president and chief technology officer. He replaces Ron Kolessar, who will retire this summer after 42 years with Arbitron and its predecessor companies.
Arshi worked in the engineering and operations departments at Intel Corp., most recently as general manager of the Manageability & Platform Software Division. He has a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles and a doctorate in computer science from Oregon State University.
Separately, Vice President of National Group Services Rich Tunkel will expand responsibilities to include leading northeast sales efforts as radio station services regional manager. He will be based in New York.
In addition to his new regional manager responsibilities, as vice president, national group services, Tunkel oversees Arbitron sales and service, and is the primary liaison for Arbitron’s Hispanic broadcast customers.
