Steve Klose has notified us that his crusade to get a plaque to commemorate Edwin Howard Armstrong placed in Armstrong’s hometown of Yonkers, N. Y., has succeeded.
The money has been raised to create and install the plaque at the Greystone Train Station in Yonkers. The train station is across the street from where electronics innovator Armstrong lived for awhile and it has a perfect view of Armstrong’s original FM transmission tower in Alpine, N.J.
Klose notes that a grant from Armstrong Memorial Research Foundation was most helpful. See our piece here for more information on the Father of FM.
