Artist-Centric Programming Emphasized at Live365

Yet another method of 'broadcast'

Remember that Florida radio station that ran an all-Led Zeppelin format for awhile? Internet radio company Live365 has launched a similar idea, but with far more ambition.

Live365 is working with artists (and the estates of some dead musicians) to provide 24-hour “artist-centric” Internet “radio” stations. These can be accessed through the Live365 portal or a website dedicated to that artist. Some of the sites are the official artist websites.

Director of Broadcasting for Live365 Jason Stoddard stated, “We’re committed to helping more artists use them to connect with their audience and gain new fans.”

Live365 also is working the mobile angle with apps for the BlackBerry, iPhone and Windows Media platforms. It can also work with TiVo, WDTV Live and the Logitech Squeezebox devices.
