More than 2,500 musical acts and new artists have registered at Clear Channel Worldwide’s New Music Network Web site as 500+ Clear Channel radio stations promote the site, the company said.
This site at www.ClearChannelNEWmusicNetwork.com makes it possible for aspiring musical talent to reach the public and the music business with their music via a free online service for musicians and consumers. Consumers can reach this site from local Clear Channel Radio station Web sites.
“We rolled the New Music Network out initially over 7 markets and in the first 30 days, hundreds of bands posted their materials on the Web site,” said Tom Owens, SVP of Programming for Clear Channel Radio.
Clear Channel released a statement from Dan Hubbert, Senior Vice President of Promotion at Capitol Records: “It’s great to see Clear Channel use its considerable audience reaches to provide such a valuable service to the labels and opportunity to the undiscovered artists. We feel the new music network has the potential to be a vital link between unsigned talent and our customers.”
