Oakland might be on the verge of losing the Raiders to Los Angeles (again) and the Warriors are planning a move to the other side of the Bay but the baseball Athletics have no plans to leave.
They just extended their radio broadcast agreement with KGMZ(FM)/95.7 The Game, an Entercom station, that’s actually in San Francisco … erm … But it’s Spring Training so why let details get in the way?
KGMZ will get all 162 regular season games and select Spring Training games plus, assuming there’s no late season fade this year and the A’s make the playoffs, KGMZ will have those too.
Play-by-play man Ken Korach will return for his third decade and Vince Cotroneo will start his second decade with the broadcast. Ray Fosse will make occasional appearances, starting his fourth decade.
Entercom San Francisco Market Manager Steve DiNardo said, “95.7 The Game has grown as a brand — experiencing consistent ratings and revenue growth during our partnership with the A’s and we are delighted to continue serving as the destination for Oakland A’s radio broadcasts for the next four seasons.”
The team is happy too. A’s Vice President of Broadcasting and Communications Ken Pries said, “It’s been an amazing partnership so far, and we look forward to many more seasons of A’s baseball on 95.7 FM and all of the affiliates across the A’s radio network.”
