The American Society of Composers, Authors & Publishers has signed both XM Satellite Radio and Sirius Satellite Radio to a five-year music licensing agreement. The satellite radio operators will pay royalties to ASCAP for the public performance of copyrighted musical compositions in the Society’s repertory of more than 7 million works. Details of the agreement were not disclosed, however all parties described the terms as equitable, according to ASCAP.
