Automakers Expand Product Lines Offering HD Radio

Additional vehicle models with digital radio technology hitting dealerships

Fourteen new models, from nine automotive brands, that offer HD Radio as standard equipment or as a factory-installed option are hitting dealership now, or are about to.

HD Radio comes as standard equipment on the 2013 Cadillac XTS, 2012 Hyundai Azera, 2013 Lexus GS, RX and LX, 2013 Scion FR-S and iQ and 2013 Subaru BRZ. It’s offered as an option on the 2013 Ford Escape, 2013 Toyota Venza, 2012 Porsche Cayenne, Panamera and 911. 

The 2013 Mazda CX-5 is the first Mazda to offer HD Radio as an option in the dash.

A total of 28 automakers have announced plans to offer HD Radio technology in a total of 140 models by year-end, according to iBiquity Digital. HD Radio is standard equipment in more than 60.

VW, Chevrolet, Buick and GMC are launching radios that support Artist Experience with more on the way, according to the technology developer.
