During the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) Digital Broadcasting Symposium 2008, DRM Chairman Peter Senger received an award for lifetime achievements.
At the opening ceremony of the symposium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Senger received the award in recognition of his commitment and long-time contribution to the development of the DRM standard.
Senger began his career with German international service, Deutsche Welle (DW), in 1965 after studying broadcast engineering in Berlin. Until June 2002, he held the posts of chief engineer and deputy technical director at DW.
He has been chairman of the DRM Consortium since 1998 and also received a lifetime award from the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) in 2003 for his commitment to the advancement of international broadcasting.
