AWMF Names Beasley Honorary Trustee

She will help to advocate for women in media

The Alliance for Women in Media Foundation has named Caroline Beasley as its newest honorary trustee.

Beasley is the executive vice president and chief financial officer of Beasley Broadcast Group, Inc., a radio broadcasting company that owns/operates 44 stations in eleven large- and mid-size markets in the United States. The company also provides management services to an FM station in Las Vegas, and operates another in the expanded AM band in Augusta, Ga.

“AWM plays a vitally important role in advocating and advancing women in media. I admire their past contributions and accomplishments and very much look forward to helping them ensure that this important mission and message resonates well into the future,” Beasley said.

Beasley has played a major role in the company founded by her father, Chairman and CEO George G. Beasley since she joined the company in 1983 and began holding various finance positions at both the station and corporate level prior to being named VP and CFO in 1994. Beasley Broadcast became a publicly traded company in 2000, and in 2005, she was promoted to EVP. Today, Beasley serves as the EVP, CFO, treasurer and secretary of the Naples, Fla.-based group.

Beasley is the immediate past chairman of the Radio Board for the National Association of Broadcasters. She was asked to join the NAB Board of Directors in 2005, has served as the Radio Board’s first and second vice-chairman and continues to serve the NAB’s Executive Committee. She is also a trustee of the NAB Political Action Committee and serves on the board of the Radio Music Licensing Committee.
