After two years of working with Axia Audio products as a user, Marc Johnson was named applications engineer for that company. He had been chief engineer at Auburn University’s WEGL(FM), Axia’s first studio client.
Johnson became acquainted with Axia while planning a rebuild of public broadcaster WEGL’s on-air studio. He selected the company’s Ethernet-based IP-Audio network technology, and in spring 2004 WEGL became the first U.S. station to go live with IP-Audio stations.
