German technology institute Fraunhofer IIS is adding Axia Livewire IP-Audio connectivity to its ContentServer range.
“The tight integration of IP-based audio distribution into our professional broadcast server solutions will provide broadcasters with a convenient way of uniformly handling audio distribution in the studio infrastructure, right up to final broadcast encoding,” said Alexander Zink, product director for ContentServer solutions at Fraunhofer IIS.
The implementation of the Livewire standard makes it possible for broadcasters with Axia IP-Audio networks to integrate with ContentServer products using a single Ethernet connection.
“Axia and our parent company, Telos, have enjoyed a long and fruitful relationship with Fraunhofer, beginning with our introduction of MP3 technology to the broadcasting community in the early 1990s,” said Axia President Michael Dosch.
