More details are out on the contract by AFRTS for a new digital facility at March Air Force Base, reported here earlier this week.
AZCAR Technologies, a Canadian technology integration company, has won a $2.6 million contract to provide a turnkey digital radio automation system with modular digital audio routing subsystem for the American Forces Radio and Television Service digital radio facility at the Defense Media Center at the air base; the project is scheduled to be completed late this year.
The system will be capable of managing radio programming for 18 on-air format channels and 24 off-line recording channels, with expansion capabilities to 24 and 30 channels respectively. AZCAR said it won the business over several completing bidders.
Subcontracts are being awarded by AZCAR to OMT Technologies Inc., also based in Canada, and Sierra Automated Systems, which is in California.
