Barnes Foundation Elects Radio One Founder to Board

Hughes is one of three new trustees of Philly philanthropy

Radio One founder and Chairperson Catherine L. Hughes has been named to board of trustees of the Barnes Foundation, a Philadelphia-based philanthropic organization.

She is one of three newly elected to serve on the board of the foundation, whose website says its purpose is to “promote the advancement of education and the appreciation of the fine arts and horticulture.” John J. Aglialoro and Gregory Charles Miller will also take new positions.

Radio One Inc. is an urban-oriented, multimedia company that primarily targets African-American and urban consumers. It is also the largest African American-owned and operated broadcast company in the United States.
