Bayliss Foundation Marks 20 Years

Bayliss Foundation Marks 20 Years

The John Bayliss Broadcast Foundation said it is celebrating its 20th anniversary, and detailed plans for a new internship program.
The foundation was started in 1985 and named for John Bayliss, president of Charter Broadcasting./ It provides financial aid to outstanding college students preparing for a career in radio.
The organization has awarded approximately $895,000 to 280 students, starting with two $500 scholarships in 1986. The current award amount is $5,000; a dozen were awarded in 2004.
This summer, the Bayliss Intern Program will debut; it helps radio corporations and universities place exceptional broadcast students in stations for a “hands-on” experience.
