Bayliss to Put Smyth in the ‘Hot Seat’

Peter Smyth, president and CEO of Greater Media, will be “roastee” for the Bayliss Broadcast Foundation’s annual Radio Roast, April 2 in New York.

Smyth started in radio at WROR(FM), Boston in 1977. He later moved to parent company RKO General’s WOR(FM) and then went to work for Greater Media in 1986, starting as general manager of WMJX(FM), Boston. He is the 23rd radio-industry executive to be “dis-honored” by the Bayliss Foundation.

Smyth is the chair of the Radio Advertising Bureau’s board of directors, and also is a past president of the New England Media Association. He also serves on the board of the National Association of Broadcasters, and is a member of the HD Digital Alliance Oversight Committee.
