Beasley Media Group’s Charlotte cluster has tapped a new promotions director for its WPEG(FM) and WBAV(FM), Leslie Baylor. Also, Beasley Tampa, Fla., station WLLD(FM) says morning show Host and PD Orlando Davis has signed a five-year extension to his contractual agreement.
“Leslie is a promotions guru who has a stellar reputation for being a team builder, forward thinker, strategic planner and music fanatic ... and we are excited to have her join us!” said Power 98 & V1019 Operations Manager/Program Director Jamillah Muhammed.
Baylor most recently coordinated promotions, events, marketing and brand management for Radio One’s Washington, stations, which include WMMJ(FM), WPRS(FM), WKYS(FM), WYCB(AM) and WOL(AM). At Radio One D.C., Baylor was a part of the promotions, programming, sales and digital departments across all of the stations.
In the Charlotte radio market, Beasley Media Group owns five FMs and two AMs, including: WSOC(FM); WKQC(FM); WPEG(FM); WBAV(FM); WNKS(FM); WBCN(AM); and, WFNZ(AM).
Davis has led Rhythmic Top 40 WiLD 94.1 since its launch in 1998. He joined the news coverage of the 2010 Haiti devastation, reporting to 46 affiliates, from Seattle to New York. Davis annually gives back to the Tampa community through “Orlando’s Toy Drive” event, where he is housed outdoors for five days, high up on a 40-foot scaffold, and he also generates donations of bikes, toys and gift cards for The Children’s Home, and Tampa Bay area’s orphanage program; entering its fourth year, this drive has raised over $30,000, 700 bikes and truckloads of toys.
