Digital audio workstation developer SADiE has announced a sale of 50 SADiE 6 workstation licenses to the BBC.
MediaCityUK is home to the BBC North production facility.SADiE 6 is the most recent iteration of the software platform.
The installation is likely to go smoothly; the BBC already operates a number of SADiE systems. The BBC North facility at MediaCityUK along Salford Quays in Manchester, England, will be the recipient. The requirements of the BBC focused on high-end systems for production, notably audio processing, which SADiE met by adding a processing plug-in package from iZotope.
Additionally, the BBC requested that the licenses be compatible with installed BBC SADiE hardware. Also, SADiE worked with VCS to make sure that its SADiE 6 system would be compatible with the BBC’s VCS Dira! playback system.
