BBC Arabic, English Expanded on Arabsat

The BBC says a renewed agreement with satellite company Arabsat allows it to increase its presence in the Arab world.
Radio programs in Arabic and English will be aired for audiences in Asia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. The announcement was made by Simon Kendall, business development manager of BBC World Service, and Khalid Balkhyour, Arabsat president/CEO.
“We are honored by their trust in our system and their confidence in the extensive penetration of Arabsat’s constellation of BADR satellites at our 26° East primary fast-growing DTH neighborhood,” Balkhyour said in the announcement.
Recent reconfiguration means current BBC listeners via Arabsat will need to retune receivers.
