BE Acquires Radio Datacasting Firm

Broadcast Electronics has acquired the assets of The Radio Experience, a radio datacasting company operated by Allen Hartle. Terms were not disclosed.
“Hartle, who is widely credited with the Radio Broadcast Data System (RBDS) resurgence in the United States, will join Broadcast Electronics as director of development, broadcast data services,” the companies stated.
BE President John Pedlow said the firm “is reinforcing our leadership position in the future of radio data as a means for stations to build listenership and enhance revenue.”
The Radio Experience will keep its offices near Seattle. BE is in Illinois.
