BE Appoints Western Region Sales Manager

Broadcast Electronics has hired Richard Rice as a regional sales manager responsible for the company’s AudioVault and The Radio Experience digital media product lines. Previously, Rice was director of business development for IT firm Midwest Information
Technology Group, and earlier, heading up operations for an instant messaging software development company.
Rice takes over account duties from Mike Oakes, who left the company in late 2005.
Ray Miklius, BE vice president, Studio Systems, said Rice’s experience would transfer to broadcasting, as stations face new business models and ways of operating as they transition to digital.
BE’s product expansion in 2005 included new data generation and management tools as part of its studio suite integrating on-air activities with over-the-Internet, RDS and HD Radio text activities.
