At NAB2007, in collaboration with HD Radio developers iBiquity Digital Corp., Broadcast Electronics (BE) demonstrated an electronic program guide (EPG) for HD Radio IBOC digital radio.
For the duration of the exhibition, the demonstration featured EPGs for 20 HD Radio program channels in the greater Las Vegas area.
According to Ray Miklius, BE vice president studio systems, BE aimed to present a typical user experience of HD Radio EPG and some of its related features. The demonstration involved the BE IDi 20 Importer and The Radio Experience for broadcasting and managing the advanced capabilities of HD Radio technology.
In the demonstration, a receiver with a touchscreen interface displayed station names, frequencies and HD channels, and automatically advanced through EPG schedules by station or time.
