The U.S. military awarded Broadcast Electronics a contract to supply four BE FM solid-state transmitters and two BE medium-wave solid-state transmitters for bases in Europe.
The order adds to 10 BE transmitters recently acquired by Soldiers Media Center, the manufacturer said.
The center will take delivery this month of two FM 5C solid-state transmitters, two BE FM 500C1 transmitters and two BE AM 10A transmitters.
BE’s Tom Beck said the systems will replace 15- to 20-year-old tube installations in some cases, reduce overall operating costs and provide better failsafe options.
