Beasley announced a multicast format for 106.3 WJPT(FM) in southwest Florida.
In its marketing of this move, Beasley says its HD2 stations “allow our audience to go deeper into our music library, often featuring songs they may not normally hear on local radio, all through commercial-free broadcasts with no subscription fees.”
WJPT will hold a promotional HD Radio giveaway giving listeners a chance to win HD Radio receivers by answering at least one of three questions about HD Radio technology. Answers are made available on the station’s Web site.
The station calls the multicast Solid Gold 106 HD2. Randy Sherwyn is PD. He said the programming, with the likes of Linda Ronstadt, Elton John and the Doobie Brothers, is “a great complement to the standards and favorites airing on 106.3 WJPT.”
