Beasley Honors Five for Outstanding Achievements

George Corso named engineer of the year

Beasley Broadcast Group has honored five employees for noteworthy achievements over the preceding twelve months, including George Corso, regional director of engineering for the Miami and Boca Raton, Fla., markets, as the company’s engineer of the year.

Corso was recognized for his “outstanding management” of the relocation of two of the Miami stations as well as his management of the engineering departments of all six facilities, including Miami’s WPOW(FM), WKIS(FM) and WQAM(AM) and Boca’s WWNN(AM), WSBR(AM) and WHSR(AM). Corso joined Beasley in 1996.

Other 2009 honorees include: Augusta, Ga., Market Manager Kent Dunn as market manager of the year; Leo Baldwin, program director for WRDW(FM) and WXTU(FM) in Philadelphia as program director of the year; John Jaras, general sales manager for WPOW(FM) Miami, general sales manager of the year; Robin Wood, business manager for Beasley’s six Fayetteville, N.C., stations, was selected business manager of the year.

Beasley selected Philadelphia’s WRDW(FM) as its radio station of the year based on its growth in ratings and revenue, as well as cash flow performance, with the company giving kudos to Market Manager Natalie Conner, Program Director Leo Baldwin and Sales Manager Rob Keegan for the station’s selection.
