Going to Vegas in January? I’ll be there too. Now we hear that folks who attend the CES show will have a chance to hear one of the leading futurists speak.
The Consumer Electronics Association said Nicholas Negroponte will deliver a speech as part of a new international program focused on the role of technology in economic development.
Negroponte is founder of the project “One Laptop Per Child” and the MIT Media Lab. His Jan. 9 address will be part of “Technology and Emerging Countries: Advancing Development Through Technology Investments,” which looks into technologies being used by developing nations.
Negroponte wrote the seminal 1995 book “Being Digital” and he was a source of startup funds for companies like Wired magazine.
