Belgian Radio transmission system operator Norkring recently turned on a new DAB+ transmitter that is designed to benefit Flemish commercial radio stations. According to Radiodigi, this is part of the planned expansion of the DAB+ network scheduled for 2016.
Norkring recently added three new stations, and with its new transmitter they now cover a larger part of Flanders. Norkring expects to further expand its DAB+ reach in 2017 so that it covers all of Flanders.
Belgium officially launched its DAB+ network in May 2015 at the WorldDAB European Automotive Event in Brussels. Two transmitters were turned on at the launch, one in Sint Pieters Leeuw and another in Brussels.
