KIIS(FM) in Los Angeles rakes in the big bucks and billed about $61.3 million in 2001. That’s the second year in a row as the top biller, according to rankings by BIA Financial Network, Inc.
Second-place biller, Clear Channel-owned light AC WLTW(FM), brought in $56.3 million.
Infinity Broadcasting’s Sports Talk WFAN(FM), New York, placed third in the 2001 ranking, with $51.3 million in estimated revenue. WFAN was the top biller from 1995 -1999.
Emmis-owned KPWR(FM) in Los Angeles is the first Urban station to get into the top-10 billing rankings, stated BIAfn. KPWR earned $42.4 million in 2001.
Newser WINS(AM) in New York ranked 4 with $49.7 million in 2001. The Infinity station moved up one notch from the year before.
