Bill Kurtis Buys Oklahoma Station

Kurtis Media LLC, owned by producer and broadcaster Bill Kurtis, is buying 6 kW station KBVL(FM) in Pawhuska/Bartlesville, Okla., from Jack Borgan of Borgan Broadacsting. The station serves Northeast Oklahoma and Southeast Kansas and is an ABC Radio Network Licensee.
Kurtis, familiar to TV viewers for his work with CBS News, also owns KIND(AM/FM) Radio in Independence, Kan., where he began his career. He bought it in 2000. He called Bartlesville/Pawhuska “one of the most vibrant” communities in the four-state region.
