If you’re looking for bright spots in radio’s revenue picture, look at national sales and non-spot revenue. But radio’s total revenue performance remains in the blahs.
In July, the RAB reports, national business was up 5% compared to the same month in 2005. Non-spot was up 12%.
But radio still gets most of its revenue from local ad sales, and those were down 2%. Combined local and national ad sales fell 1%.
Grand total revenue was flat in July and is flat for the entire year.
