The end was quick.
Internet music streamer Bloom.fm released a simple and short message — it’s shutting down immediately.
The cause was that its major investor had suddenly, apparently without warning, pulled funding. According to the short message on the website, there was no time to seek alternative funding.
The message noted that Bloom.fm has well over one million registrants.
Update: Bloom hopes for a happy ending, a white knight. Whether the company has an actual tire-kicker, much less a real offer, is not known.
